One ball of Earl’s melon is 7,000 yen.
メロンを食べるために
7000円は高いので
普段は買えませんが、
ふるさと納税であれば
ちょうどいい金額かなと思います。
7,000 yen for a melon is expensive.
I usually can’t afford it. but if it is a tax payment for a hometown, I think the price is just right.
そして届いたのがこちら。

箱を開けると立派なメロンです。
When I opened the box, I found a magnificent melon.

The package also contained a helpful instruction on how to enjoy the melon.
送られてきたメロンの食べごろまで書いてあり

I did some research on melons.
I like melons, but surprisingly I don’t know much about them.
I did some research to learn more about melons.
The country of origin of melons seems to be India.
It seems that they have been cultivated since BC, but the sweet melon we know today appeared at the end of the Middle Ages.
After harvesting, melons are left at room temperature for a certain amount of time to ripen and become sweeter.
As the melon ripens, it becomes softer around the center of the bottom.
The melon is ready to eat when it is lightly indented.
There are so many things I didn’t know about melons, even though I did a little research.
Now I can enjoy melons more deliciously.
I find myself becoming more and more fond of melons as I study them.
