見に行った場所は南砺市にある
桜ヶ池クアガーデンです。
The place I went to see it was Sakuragaike Kur Garden in Nanto City.

近くに公園やボルダリングのできる施設もあります。

ひまわり畑すばらしい The sunflower field is amazing
お目当てのひまわり畑はホテルの裏にありました。
The sunflower field we were looking for was located behind the hotel.
結構広いひまわり畑です。
It’s a pretty large sunflower field.
かなり背の高いひまわりが数えきれないほど咲いています。
Countless tall sunflowers are in bloom.
あまり興味なかったのですが、感動しました。
I wasn’t that interested, but I was impressed.
子供も楽しんでいました。

ひまわり畑の中は迷路になっていて
ひまわり畑の中を探検することができます。
There is a maze inside the sunflower field that you can explore.
ところどころ行き止まりがありますが、絶好の写真ポイントです。
There are dead ends here and there, but it’s a great photo spot.
また、写真撮影用にステージが組まれています。
There is also a stage set up for photo taking.
そちらからの写真もいい感じで取れます。

見頃はお盆ぐらいまでとのことですので
ちょうどいいタイミングでした。

I was surprised because I didn’t know that it had been eaten for a long time.
If you try to eat sunflower seeds in Japan these days, most of them are imported.
Regarding the fact that sunflowers face the sun
Sunflowers bloom facing the sun. It’s a famous story.
In fact, fully opened flowers do not face the sun.
This is due to stem growth.
The reason they face the sun is because the stems that are not exposed to the sun grow faster than the stems that are exposed to the sun.
This gives the appearance that the flowers are chasing the sun.
Fully opened flowers do not grow stems, so they do not follow the sun.
It’s an interesting flower.
Japanese folk beliefs
There are popular beliefs depending on the region.
For example, you should not plant sunflowers at home, you will not prosper if you plant sunflowers, and you will become poor if you plant sunflowers.
It seems to be a tradition in Osaka, Nara, Fukuoka, Nagano, Akita, etc.
We don’t know why. This may be because there are elements in Japanese that are disliked.
Sunflower is called “Himawari” in Japanese.
“Hi” means the sun and “mawari” means rotating.
Its name also comes from the fact that it rotates toward the sun in Japanese.
However, “Himawari” can have different meanings.
There are two theories.
One theory is that Hi'' means fire andmawari” means to spread, which causes a fire, while Hi'' means time, andmawari” means time passes, meaning that time passes.
I think this kind of folk belief exists because people in the past valued the power that resides in words and letters.
This is also quite interesting.
