そこで今回は痒いつながりで
私の仕事で使う痒いものを
紹介したいと思います。

痒さNo.1 生体溶解性セラミックファイバー The Itchiest Thing – Bio-dissolvable Ceramic Fibers
リフラクトリーセラミックファイバー（通称RCF）が
発がん性ありということで
特定化学物質に認定されました。
Refractory Ceramic Fiber (commonly known as RCF) has been approved
as a specified chemical substance because it is carcinogenic.
これはRCFの繊維が細かすぎて
肺などに入ったときに刺さります。
This is due to the RCF fibers being too fine.
It stings when it enters the lungs.
刺さった繊維は体に吸収されないので
それを原因にがんができるとのことらしいです。
They say that the stinging fibers are not absorbed by the body
and can cause cancer from it.
発がんのリスクはタバコやコーヒーの方が高いのに
不思議です。
But the truth is that the risk of carcinogenicity is higher for cigarettes and coffee.
It is a wonder that cigarettes and coffee are not regulated.
そこで急ぎ開発されたのが人体に入っても溶解する
生体溶解性セラミックファイバーです。

痒くてたまりません。

使う側からすると
本当に体に対して優しくなっているのか
疑問です。

どんなものかというとこんなものです。

汎用性No.1 痒さの殿堂 ロックウール Versatility no-1 – Itchy Hall of Fame – Rockwool
漢字で書くと岩綿です。
Written in Chinese characters, it is rock cotton.
“岩” is rock.”綿” is cotton.
It is written in Chinese characters as cotton, but the name is wool.
Did the first person to use it make a mistake?
In the first place, I think cotton and wool are both different.
Cotton is a plant, and wool is sheep’s hair.
Rock wool is a mineral, so both are different.
If you think of it the other way around,
they might have dared to use such a name.
In the old days, we used to call it “ganmen” (rock cotton).
It’s written “cotton” but it’s not a plant.
To express this, they may have dared to call it wool.
I can only guess at the anguish of the people of that time.
Regrettably, I wonder why fiber was not used at that time.

使用用途は
住宅や機械設備、配管などの断熱材として
また、吸音材としても使用されています。

たまにしか出会わない痒さですが、
熱電対の素線も痒いです。
I really only use it occasionally,

ガラス繊維で被覆されているものを
加工しようとすると
繊維が体に付着します。
If you try to process something that is coated with glass fibers,
the fibers will stick to your body.
一回の付着量は少ないので
加工が少ない場合は気になりません。
It doesn’t take a lot of fiber, so if you don’t have a lot of processing,
you don’t need to worry about it.
しかし、何本も熱電対の加工をしていると
次第に痒くなってきます。
However, after processing many thermocouples, it gradually becomes itchy.
痒さレベルも結構高く、
感覚的にはしつこい痒さって感じがします。

痒さ対策は保護具着用 Wear protective gear to prevent itchiness
痒さ対策としては、
オーソドックスですが、
手袋、眼鏡、合羽、マスクなどの
保護具を着用することを
推奨します。
To prevent itchiness, it is recommended to wear protective gear.
Gloves, glasses, coats, and masks are all effective.
一度痒くなると、家に帰って風呂に入るまで
不快感がつづきます。
Once it gets itchy, the discomfort lasts until I get home and take a bath.
面倒でも保護具着用で
作業願います。
Please wear protective equipment even if it is troublesome.
