Memo: Musicals mean Broadway
Broadway means musicals.
Musicals mean Broadway.
I did a little research on Broadway.
Where is Broadway?
Broadway is in the United States.
It is in New York State, New York City.
It is a major street on Manhattan Island, and there are many theaters around 41st Street to 54th Street.
Number of theaters on Broadway
There are 41 theaters with a seating capacity of 500 or more.
There are 17 theaters with a seating capacity of 500 or less.
A total of 58 theaters.
That’s quite a lot.
How Broadway became the musical Broadway
Broadway was originally a major street, so it seems to have been a normal downtown area.
The history of how it became known as a town of musicals is as follows.
A playhouse was built in 1732, and a theater was built in 1767.
After that, the number of theaters seems to have increased one after another.
Apparently, a theater for the general public was built in the 1800s and the area flourished.
Summary
I did some research and found that the area had fertile ground for development.
Perhaps it was inevitable.
I’d like to go there someday.
