愛知県の半田市に出張となりました。
I’m on a business trip to Handa City in Aichi Prefecture.
今回は半田インター近くにあるホテルに宿泊します。
This time I’m staying at a hotel near Handa Interchange.
アズイン半田インターです。

部屋の様子 Room
部屋は普通ぐらいの大きさです。
The room is about average size.
そこそこ広いかなといったところです。
It’s pretty spacious.
ベッドはセミダブルぐらいありそうです。
The bed seems to be about the size of a semi-double.
ベッドの近くにUSBポートとコンセントがあります。
There is a USB port and an outlet near the bed.
めっちゃ便利です。
It’s very convenient.
机の横に小さなテーブルがあります。
There is a small table next to the desk.
個物置きや鞄などを置くのにちょうどいい感じです。
It’s just the right size to put your personal belongings and bags.
冷蔵庫のスイッチは冷蔵庫内ではなく、写真の位置にあります。
The switch for the refrigerator is not inside the refrigerator, but in the position shown in the photo.
机の下です。
It’s under the desk.
ポットは小さめです。
The pot is small.
ペヤング大盛を食べる際にはちょっと心もとない量です。
The amount is a little insufficient if you eat a large serving of Peyoung.
洗面所、風呂はきれいです。
The washroom and bath are clean.
お湯は自分で調整するタイプです。
You adjust the water temperature yourself.
今回禁煙の部屋が空いていなくて喫煙の部屋に泊まりました。
There were no non-smoking rooms available this time, so I stayed in a smoking room.
部屋は全くといっていいほどタバコの臭いがしませんでした。
The room hardly smelled of cigarettes at all.
ただ、洗面所がたばこ臭かったのが残念でした。
However, it was disappointing that the washroom smelled of cigarettes.

駐車場 Parking
ホテルすぐ横に駐車場があります。
There is a parking lot right next to the hotel.
台数も結構多く停めれそうです。
It seems like there is a lot of space to park cars.
アクセス Access
半田インターを降りて左折します。
Turn left after exiting the Handa interchange.
少し走ったらすぐにホテルが見えてきます。
You will see the hotel after a short drive.
インターを降りて５分以内くらいと思います。
It should be within 5 minutes of exiting the interchange.
周辺情報 Nearby information
飲食店はすぐ近くに数件あります。
There are several restaurants nearby.
5分～10分程歩くとさらに飲食店は増えます。
There are even more restaurants if you walk for 5 to 10 minutes.
飲むというよりも食べる系のお店が多いです。
More places to eat than to drink.
コンビニも5分～10分程歩いたところにミニストップがあります。
There is also a Ministop convenience store about 5 to 10 minutes away.
朝食 Breakfast
朝食は無料バイキングがあります。
There is a free breakfast buffet.
料理の品数もそこそこ多く、朝からしっかりご飯を食べられます。
There is a decent selection of dishes, so you can have a hearty meal in the morning.
カレーもありました。
They also have curry.
朝からカレーは最高に元気が出ます。
Curry in the morning is the best way to get energy.
Memo: Soldering is called “handa”.
In Japan, soldering is called handaduke.
It has the same name as the area where the hotel I stayed at this time is located.
Although they have the same sound, their uses are completely different.
I did a little research on soldering.
What is soldering?
Solder is an alloy whose main components are lead and tin.
It is used to join metals together, connect electronic circuits, and attach to printed circuit boards.
It is mainly used in industry, but it is also used for decoration.
It seems that this technology has been around for a long time.
As evidence of this, there are ancient ornaments that are decorated with solder.
The origin of the name “handa”
There seem to be various theories.
I will list a few of them.
・The name of a famous tin producing area (Panda Island in Malaysia, Handa Silver Mine in Fukushima Prefecture)
・Because the mixture ratio of tin and lead is about half and half
・A corrupted version of hand
・A corrupted version of the Chinese word hande
Summary
I’ve become a little smarter thanks to this opportunity.
I’m amazed that solder is an amazing technology and that it has continued to this day.
I’d like to look into it more in the future.
