謎の水滴がありました。
There was a mysterious drop of water from the zipper of my suitcase.
前回鞄の中のお弁当から液漏れがありましたが、
今回お弁当は持っていません。
Last time there was a leak from the lunch box in my bag, but I did not have my lunch box with me this time.
では何だったか。
So what was it?
酒でした。
It was alcohol.
焼酎のフタが開いていたのです。
The lid of the Shochu was open.
みそ汁が一つだめになりました。
One miso soup was ruined.

悲しすぎる状況 Too sad situation!
スーツケースの濡れている箇所はとても少なかったです。
There were very few wet parts in the suitcase.

服 Clothes
大半は服に吸収されたようです。
Most of it seemed to be absorbed by clothes.
出張から帰ってきたときに洗うものと
予備でもっていったもの両方に吸い込まれていました。
They were absorbed by both the ones I washed when I came back from my business trip and the ones I brought as a spare.
洗うものは全然問題ないのですが、
予備で持って行ったものは
そのまま次の出張にも持っていこうと思っていましたので
予定がだいぶ狂ってしまいます。
The ones I wash are perfectly fine.
The one I took as a spare I was going to take with me on my next business trip as it was, so my plans went awry.
急ぎで洗濯しないと次の出張に間に合いません。
If I don’t do the laundry in a hurry, I won’t be able to make it in time for my next business trip.
洗濯機フル稼働になります。
The washing machine will be in full operation.
焼酎 Shochu
フタが開いていた焼酎は1800mlのものでしたが、
The bottle of shochu which the lid was open was 1800ml.
3分の1ぐらい残っていました。
There was about a third of it left.
ディスカウントストアで買ったとはいえ
次の出張分は余っていたので
かなりの出費になります。
Even though we bought it at a discount store, we had enough for the next business trip, so we had to spend a lot of money.
もったいない。
It is a waste.
封筒の中身 Contents of the envelope
スーツケースの中に封筒が入っていました。
There was an envelope in my suitcase.
中身を開けると
金券と現金でした。
When I opened it, I found a golden ticket and cash.
何かあった時用に入れておいたものです。
I had put them in there in case something happened to me.
何かあったため使うことになりそうです。
I will use it because of something that happened.
とりあえず干して、乾いたらすぐ使ってしまいます。
For now, I will hang it up to dry and use it as soon as it is dry.
なんか悔しい。
It’s kind of frustrating.
スーツケース洗おう Let’s wash the suitcase.
そして、スーツケースは焼酎臭い。
And the suitcase smells of shochu.
これを何とかせねばなりません。
I have to do something about this.
ネットで調べてみたところ
丸洗いしてみたという人とダメ絶対という人に分かれます。
I checked on the Internet, and there are two types of people: those who tried to wash the whole suitcase and those who say it’s absolutely no good.
食器用洗剤で洗ったという人とタオルで拭くという人。
Some say they washed it with dishwashing detergent and those who wipe it with a towel.
様々な方法があるようです。

I am confused!
次の出張まで間がないので
食器用洗剤を含ませたタオルで拭くことにしました。
I don’t have much time before my next business trip. I decided to wipe with a towel moistened with dishwashing detergent.
食器用洗剤タオルの後、熱々タオルで仕上げます。
After the dish detergent towel, I finish with a hot towel.
陰干しして次の出張へ向かいます。
I think the smell has been removed.
匂いは取れた気がします。
I’ll dry it in the shade and head out on my next business trip.
